person, the School of Nursing's mission is to prepare professional
nurses who possess relevant knowledge and skills in clinical
theory and practice, critical thinking and problem solving
skills and abilities and a commitment to lifelong learning.
Consistent with the School of Nursing mission, the Graduate
Program aims to prepare nurses leaders who possess a holistic
perspective and the professional skills and abilities to
function in leadership and advanced practice roles in a

| Program
description |
| ¡@The School of Nursing offers a Master of Science in
Nursing (MSN) Program designed to prepare nurses for leadership
roles and for advanced practice. Its purpose is to prepare
nurses to assume advanced practice roles in a wide variety
of settings and employ strategies in nursing practice that
are based on scientific knowledge, critical analysis, and
ethical-legal decision-making to improve the health and
quality of life of the clients served. |

| Tracks
within the MSN program |
| ¡@The School of Nursing offers two tracks within the
Master of Science Program: a Nurse Practitioners track and
the Leadership in Nursing track. Within the Nurse
Practitioner track, curricula have been designed to prepare
the graduate for advanced practice in the specialty areas of
Advanced Practice Nursing. |

| ¡@The Leadership in Nursing track focuses on leadership,
fiscal management, and managerial skills to prepare the
graduate to assume leadership roles in a variety of health
care settings, including, but not limited to, hospitals,
private clinics, and community health care centers. Research,
organizational leadership and decision-making theory, fiscal
management,, ethical-legal issues and public policy issues
and development are emphasized throughout this program.
Students are also provided the unique opportunity to function
in a leadership role during their internship experience.

of establishment and teaching objectives

| ¡@The main target of this establishment is to cultivate
and educate nursing professionals.Our courses emphasize
not only the knowledge of medicine and nuring science but
also related knowledge, such as the humanities, social science,and
arts.In addition,the spirits of service and care are deeply
imprinted on our nursing student's minds. Therefore, the
depth and scope of nursing professional field can be expanded.

| Curriculum
description |
| ¡@Nursing Curriculm include the courses of humanities,
arts, medical and nursing science, (e.g. medical-surgical
nursing, maternal nursing, pediatric nursing, community
health, psychiatric nursing). Students are required to receive
clinical course at the district level teaching hospitals.
Hence, the nursing courses can be synchronous with the nursing
training. |

| ¡@To meet the interests of student's training and trends
of social development , the department especially offers
long-term care nursing Emergency Nursing, Hospice care and
other related courses. |

| Career
prospects |
| ¡@Under the integration of teaching and learning, the
students graduated from the department mostly and successfully
pass in the qualifying examinations held by the national
govenment , and they are qualified to be licensed nurses.
Some graduates pursue their further study in universities
and graduate schools. The alumnae serve in all levels of
health institution, including medical units and hospitals,
research institutes, and schools. They make great contributions
to medical and nursing organizations in Taiwan society.

| The
future trends and development |
| ¡@Nursing department has increasingly grown up under the
full support of the board of trustees, the president and
the related department. It will make much effort to be a
technology university in cooperation with the school policy.

| ¡@In order to meet the course requirements and objectives
of teachnical and vocational education, we will sincerely
invite and nourish nursing teachers qualified as associate
professors or full professors to join our faculty, strengthen
our teaching facilities, upgrade our teaching skills, enhance
social service, and actively participate in research. |
